  • Open Door Class

A spirited group of people trying to live a better life through bible study and Christian fellowship, we follow Cokesbury’s Adult Bible Study (except when we don’t) and are fond of short-term bible studies by Adam Hamilton and others. We will tackle any biblical topic the group is interested in, even the Book of Revelation. Discussion is encouraged and we only ask that everyone be polite and respectful of others’ viewpoints. All are welcome to come and visit or become a regular member of our group. The class meets in the Fellowship Hall, below the main Sanctuary, and starts around 10:00 a.m.. Coffee is available. Come earlier to visit.

  • Followers Class

When you enter The Followers Sunday School classroom (which is also our Library), several things will catch your attention. You'll hear the lively hum of conversation, or perhaps a moment of silence as the group pauses for deeper reflection. There may be laughter from brief side discussions, soon redirected to the main topic, guided by Cokesbury’s Adult Bible Study series. There is always something for everyone, making it easy to feel at home.

  • Faith+Life Group

Our Faith+Life Group meets weekly, typically at Dom’s Bakery in North Wilkesboro on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. This group is informal and enjoys relating the scripture to daily life. We use a daily devotional book, Disciplines: A Book of Daily Devotions from the Upper Room, to guide our conversations.

  • UMYF

Youth in 6th - 12th grade are invited to join our United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) on Sunday evenings from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  (6:00 - 8:00 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time) in the Youth Arena. During UMYF, youth enjoy a light supper, a devotion, and singing. UMYF members also go on monthly outings throughout the school year for recreation and mission projects, and look forward to a weeklong Youth Mission Trip each summer.

  • First Kids

First Kids is our fun after-school program for children pre-K through fifth grade! Each Wednesday when Wilkes County Schools have full days, we meet after school for fellowship, a snack, art, spiritual lessons, service projects, music, and recreation. School pick-up is available at Moravian Falls and Wilkesboro Elementary Schools. We have several times during the year where the children will participate in the Sunday worship service as well!

  • Youth Sunday School

Middle and high school youth are welcome to meet in the choir room at 10:00 a.m. for a time of devotion and singing (and are welcome, if they’d like, to sing with the Chancel Choir during the 10:50 a.m. Sanctuary service). Our United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) meetings on Sunday evening also include a time for Bible study and discussion. Youth are also welcome to join in with one of the adult Sunday School classes.

  • Children's Sunday School

Our Children’s Sunday School Class, for ages birth through fifth grade, currently meets “one-room school” style in a large, sunny classroom in our Preschool area. With increased participation, we plan to split our group into two classrooms for ages 2-5 and 6-10. We use Cokesbury Big Faith children’s curriculum, which aims to help children grow a faith that's as big as their imaginations.

Children’s Church is offered several times a month for children pre-K through fifth grade during our 10:50 a.m. Sanctuary service. Children meet up with our leader after Passing of the Peace for a special service downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. During that time, we typically do Godly Play lessons,

Each summer, we team up with other local churches to offer Vacation Bible School for children ages 2 through 5th grade.

Every June, we work to get a group (kindergarten to adults) together to attend Music & Worship Arts Week at Lake Junaluska.

  • Confirmation

Confirmation classes are held periodically for youth who are ready to explore their Christian faith and our United Methodist tradition and beliefs as they consider becoming professing members of The United Methodist Church. Confirmation classes are led by our pastor with the support of adult mentor-volunteers.
