Outreach Ministries
Our Outreach Ministry strives to addresses the concerns and conditions of people in the local community, region, nation, and world. Our Outreach Ministry committee makes grants throughout the year to support the work of service organizations here in our local community and across our United Methodist connection. We work with Samaritan’s Kitchen of Wilkes to feed the hungry by supporting their backpack ministry for children and food pantry for the community at large. Our Little Free Pantry, on E Street beside the Chapel, is stocked daily thanks to generous donations of food, funds, and time. We are proud to have a special, long-standing connection with North Wilkesboro Elementary School, supporting staff through special meals, providing school supplies requested by teachers, and more. Our Colvard Fund program makes it possible for Wilkes County Schools guidance counselors to purchase clothing and other items for students in need. Our Emergency Fund Crisis Ministry, working collaboratively with other local churches, provides financial assistance to meet immediate, short-term needs for community members. Our First Thursday Lunch Crew provides a home-cooked meal for community members at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church during the community Crisis Ministry’s service hours and related Step Ahead classes.

United Women in Faith
The Kin-dom is among us: Drawing Closer to God and One Another
The United Women in Faith (formerly United Methodist Women) is a mission organization which supports nonprofits that help women, children, and youth in our community and throughout the world. We are a fellowship of women who also support each other as sisters in Christ.
We have two small groups (circles) in our unit, and they meet the first Tuesday of every month. The Gardener–Hix circle meets at the church at 1:00 p.m. in room 203. The New Light Fellowship circle meets at Cagney’s Restaurant at 6:00 p.m.
We make a donation to the District United Women in Faith each quarter, and that money is used where it is needed most. We also make donations to four local community service organizations at the end of the year, and lead congregation-wide mission projects. Last year, the congregation donated items for UMCOR Health Kits as well as kitchen items for Project Agape in Armenia.
We attend several events including UWFaith Spiritual Growth Retreat, Mission U, the District UWFaith Annual Celebration, and the Appalachian District Membership and Leadership Development Day.

United Methodist Men
Our United Methodist Men prepare and serve a regular 4th Sunday Breakfast for the whole congregation. Proceeds from the project support our Emergency Fund, which provides financial assistance to our neighbors in need.

Witness Ministries
Our Witness Ministry works to help everyone know and respond to the love of God in Christ, with a particular focus on one-on-one ministries inside and outside the congregation. These ministries include Stephen Ministry, our Intercessory Prayer team, our greeting card ministry, and our bereavement and hospitality teams, as well as general efforts to keep our congregation members connected with one another.

Creation Care
A Peace and Justice ministry-centered community to build resiliency in ecosystems which are most affected by climate change. We love our neighbors and our earth, protecting the people and natural places. We aim to cultivate a life of contemplation and action, grounding ourselves in love and service. Living into the United Methodist tradition of grace, our doors are open to all.
